TWO,ONE & HALF-DAY EXECUTIVE OFFSITE

'BUILDING A HEALTHY TEAM IS NOT DIFFICULT BUT IT DOES REQUIRE DISCIPLINE AND FOCUS.'

Based on the ground-breaking work of Patrick Lencioni, this offsite will examine

The Four Disciplines that an executive team must put in place to ensure a healthy and well-functioning company.

What does an organization have to do to get healthy? There are four steps:

1. BUILD A COHESIVE LEADERSHIP TEAM

The first step is all about getting the leaders of an organization to behave in a functional, cohesive way. If the people responsible for running an organization are behaving in dysfunctional ways, then that dysfunction will cascade into the rest of the organization and prevent organizational health.

2. CREATE CLARITY

The second step for building a healthy organization is ensuring that the members of that leadership team are intellectually aligned around six simple, but critical questions.

3. OVER-COMMUNICATE CLARITY

Only after these first two steps are in process, can an organization undertake the third step: over-communicating the answers to the six questions.

4. REINFORCE CLARITY

Finally, in addition to over-communicating, leaders must ensure that the answers to the six critical questions are reinforced repeatedly using simple human systems.

In addition to these four steps, it is essential that a healthy organization get better at the one activity that underpins everything it does: meetings. Without making a few simple but fundamental changes to the way meetings happen, a healthy organization will struggle to maintain what it has worked hard to build.

A fundamental element of implementing the disciplines in place will be to explore The Five Dysfunctions of a Team.

To begin improving your team and to better understand the level of dysfunction you are facing, ask yourself these simple questions for each level:

Do team members sacrifice their own interests for the good of the team?

Do team members confront one another about their shortcomings?

Does the team come to decisions quickly and avoid getting bogged down by consensus?

Are teams compelling and productive?

Do team members openly and readily disclose their opinions?

As part of building trust we will take an in-depth look at each team member’s working style using

The Six Types of Working Genius and the implications for the team’s effectiveness.

The Six Types of Working Genius is a model that helps people discover their natural abilities and thrive in their work.
